December 2009 Greetings Mount Tolmie Community Residents and Merchants, The MTCA executive is made up of 11 dedicated volunteers whose aim is to keep our community a safe and vibrant one. This year we have decided to create annual goals as will as have specific ongoing projects. We will give an update on these goals and projects at the Annual General Meeting held in May of each year. The goals for 2009/10 are to complete some ongoing projects: Bench installation on Mt. Tolmie, directional marker on Mt. Tolmie, and the creation of a new association logo and to have one event. Ongoing endeavours are: Emergency Preparedness, Safety (including traffic, cycling, and sidewalks), and a Community Mapping Project. Your executive realizes that we are an ever changing community. In order to be able to communicate more regularly with everyone, we have decided to change from producing a traditional newsletter once or twice a year to producing a simple electronic bulletin. The cost of producing a print newsletter came with a significant cost that we weren’t covering with membership fees. There may be some concern that some people may not receive this information. So, in an effort to reach more community members, we are trying to gather a list of names and e-mail addresses to send this bulletin to. In the spirit of community, please forward or print this bulletin for your neighbours who may not have an e-mail address or may not have provided us with one. Remember, everyone living in the Mt. Tolmie area is welcome to become a member. A membership form can be found on our website at: http://mtca.ca/membership.shtml We hope that enjoy this bulletin and we wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season.
